The wait is over: the teams have been named by Riot Games. The 30 structures that will be part of VALORANT’s new international league were revealed yesterdaywith some surprises, such as the arrival of Karmine Corp. or lack of G2 Esports. These 30 structures will participate in the first franchise league of the game, in the Americas, EMEA or Pacific regions, and will fight for the title of world champion at the end of the 2023 season. But for some, this decision sounded the end of the adventure.
In effect, G2 Esports confirmed in the wake of this announcement that it was ending its group, and released its current players. The Swedish organization Ninjas in Pajamas just did the same, via a tweet from the team’s general manager. Again, the entire workforce is authorized to see elsewhere, “in view of this recent decision”. If it is not always affirmed that the roster is dissolved, it is at least replaced.
Our fantastic @PlayVALORANT squad are allowed to explore other options given recent news. While nothing is concluded on our end, it wouldn’t be fair to them and all the hard work they’ve put down, to not let them follow their ambitions.

Same story on the side of the Chinese organizatione FunPlus Phoenix. Also absent from the Pacific league like EMEA, the club has finally confirmed the rumors indicating for several days that it wanted sell his roster in case of absence in VCT 2023. In a press releaseFPX therefore specifies:
Today we share the sad news that Riot Games did not choose us to participate in the VCT Partner Program in 2023. Which means that we will not be able to participate in the VALORANT Major League next year. On behalf of FunPlus Phoenix, we are shocked and disappointed by this result. […] But now we will focus on taking care of our players and their immediate future. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all fans for your continued love and support over the years.
Other teams that have announced the dissolution of their current roster include Acend, BIG and Version1, all affected by Riot Games’ decision. It’s transfer window time, with some great people on the transfer market!
