“Not roadworthy” – Feuz makes fun of Kriechmayr when he says goodbye

It’s over! After 217 starts in the World Cup with 59 podium finishes and 16 victories, Beat Feuz ended his skiing career in Kitzbühel on Saturday. The Swiss finally said goodbye to his fans in Austria in the ORF studio with a small verbal tip against Vincent Kriechmayr.

“Have you been able to toast a few times, with colleagues, companions, sponsors, coaches?” Asked ORF man Rainer Pariasek four hours after Feuz’s last trip – and promptly got an honest answer. “Not as bad as with Vinc” “Yes, we sat together for a moment – I might not be able to drive anymore. But it’s not as wild as the Vinc in Cortina. So all in all it’s okay,” laughs the 35-year-old Swiss. Pariasek can’t hold back either. “Well, he’ll thank you for warming it up again,” jokes the ORF star. “But you were there then, right?” Feuz: “Yes, yes, I already rubbed it in Vinc’s nose today.” “Women’s Spitz” What are you talking about? It was at the Ski World Championships in Cortina 2021: Kriechmayr came to the ORF studio as a double world champion with a “women’s spitz”. At that time, Feuz was sitting right next to the Upper Austrian and was already having fun there. Apparently a nice and fun reminder for the Emmentaler in a great career. But he doesn’t want to throw a big party at the end of his career himself. “Yes, the Americans are motivated. But I’m more the one who celebrates in silence, without a big stage.”Feuz collected Olympic gold (2022), was world champion in St. Moritz (2017) and won four small crystal globes for the downhill world cup in a row (2017/18 until 2020/21).
