At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, the ZTE subsidiary Nubia is showing new smartphones – including the Nubia Music, which will go on sale in this country in April for around 150 euros. Despite the low price, it has a special feature that puts many cell phones to shame: an extra-large speaker. The manufacturer promises that its volume will be 600 times larger than all other smartphones on the market.
The listening test underlines the statements. Despite the loud hustle and bustle of the trade fair, you can’t miss Nubia Music at the stand. Despite the DTS:X certification, we would classify the sound at the level of inexpensive mini Bluetooth speakers. But listen to it for yourself in the video below.

But the loudspeaker is not the only special feature of the cell phone. You can use an app to choose between three different lighting effects to match the music. However, we hardly noticed them. The cell phone also offers two 3.5 millimeter jack headphone jacks. So you can easily listen to music as a couple on a cell phone.
Further equipment at a glance
What else does Nubia Music have to offer? The display is a 6.6-inch screen with a Full HD+ resolution. It is an LCD IPS panel. The maximum refresh rate here is 90 Hertz. 128 gigabytes of memory, 4 gigabytes of RAM, two 50-megapixel cameras on the back and the dusty Uniscoc SC9863A processor round off the equipment.
Android 13 was still installed as the operating system on the demonstration devices at MWC, but the cell phone may already be running Android 14 when it launches.
The Nubia Music has a record-breaking loudspeaker at MWC, but other manufacturers are also showing record-breaking cell phones in Barcelona.
