Warner Bros. again teamed up with New Line Cinema to produce “ numerous » movies in the world of Lord of the Rings.

The partnership (or the community, if you pardon the expression) was announced by David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros., during the call for investors for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year .

A community to film them all…

As a reminder, New Line Cinema is the production company behind the legendary original trilogy of Lord of the Rings. During the latest investor call held yesterday, the CEO of Warner Bros. indicated to resume this partnership in order to return several times in the universe of Tolkien.

The first fruit of this renewed partnership has already been announced, with an animated film called The Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrimexpected on April 12, 2024, therefore centered on the very classy Lords of the Horses.

To the delight of fans, this will not be the last time we return to Middle-earth with Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema. For the time being, however, we do not know more about what these ” many movies will propose.

…and not in darkness bind them?

The two companies will in any case have competition, since Amazon is already preparing a season 2 of the extremely expensive (and questionable quality?) series. Rings of Power. Embracer Group, which also owns the rights to the license, also intends to produce films about iconic characters such as Aragorn, Galadriel, Gandalf or Gollum.

Given the worldwide success of the original film trilogy, let’s hope this partnership between Warner Bros. Discovery and New Line Cinema will be able to offer us new films of the same level, even if it is still too early to tell.

Either way, fans of Tolkien’s works won’t run out of movies or series in this universe to watch in the future. Nor even video games, since a certain Lord of the Rings: Gollum repeatedly postponed should finally be released this year, in a state yet to be determined.
