Carl Pei didn’t tell us everything. In addition to its very first smartphone, its Nothing brand is also preparing the arrival of new headphones to succeed the Nothing ear (1).
Nothing has announced that the launch conference for its first smartphone, the Phone (1), will be held on July 12, 2022. But the brand would have been secretive and would prepare at least one surprise in addition to the presentation of the mobile.
A new case with an original but practical design
According to tipster Mukul Sharma, the manufacturer would also take advantage of the event to promote a new generation of headphones. These would be baptized Nothing ear (1) Stick, and the calendar gives credit to this information, since the original model, the Nothing ear (1), came out on the market about a year ago. Seeing an update now would therefore not be surprising.
On the visual shared by Mukul Sharma, a difference strikes from the outset with this new version: its charging case is no longer cubic in shape, but rather adopts a rectangular design, thinner and all in length, hence the name “Stick”. It’s unusual, but it may make it easier to slip into a pocket or bag. It remains to be seen whether the capacity of the battery does not suffer.
Almost identical headphones
Otherwise, the earbuds themselves look almost perfectly like the first-gen ones, except for a few minor details. We notice the appearance of two gray circles on the stem of the headphones, in place of the grid simulation of the previous model. In addition, the mention “Nothing ear (1)” is replaced by “ear (1) STICK”.
This new version could be delivered without additional silicone tips, but this data is not yet certain. If this is confirmed, it is hoped that this is a way for Carl Pei’s company to lower the price of the product.
No element has leaked on the technical specifications of these Nothing ear (1) Stick, but we expect few changes compared to the Nothing ear (1) of last year.
