We knew Nothing, now here is “ CMF by Nothing “. In the course of a “Community Update” video published on YouTube, the boss of the company, Carl Pei, revealed important information. Nothing is thus launching a new brand called CMF, very focused on offering attractive value for money on its future products. A connected watch and a pair of wireless headphones are already planned “later this year“.

Let’s say it straight away, we don’t know what the three letters CMF mean and Carl Pei also has fun on Twitter. On the other hand, he gives some details on the philosophy of the new CMF by Nothing brand. In summary, expecta new product line that makes the best design more accessible“. He suggests that this is a solution to a market where technological products no longer manage to excite people and where “quality seems like a false promise“.

Differences between CMF and Nothing

Thus, CMF promises to share the same taste for neat design as Nothing and to pay the same attention to the user experience. On the other hand, according to Carl Pei, there are three major differences to keep in mind to distinguish the two brands under his fold.

Differences between sister brands CMF and Nothing

CMF therefore highlights three concepts: neat design and controlled, prices accessibleAndreliable quality. For its part, Nothing relies more on innovative designs, premium products and equipped with the latest technologies.

In other words, Nothing wants to look at the top of the basket and establish itself as a brand that moves the lines of the market while CMF will try to cultivate a good quality-price ratio. The moderate price will therefore be one of CMF’s main arguments for the connected watch and headphones planned for 2023. However, nothing is yet known about the characteristics of these products.

Remember that the Nothing Phone (2) launched recently from 679 euros is far from being the most expensive smartphone on the market. The same goes for the Nothing Ear headphones (2) at 149 euros. In other words, we are therefore entitled to expect really attractive prices from CMF if this news puts more emphasis on accessible prices.
