With the mid-range smartphone Nothing Phone (1), the new company from OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei was able to score particularly well with a semi-transparent back with LEDs. With the Nothing Phone (2), a successor is now in prospect.
The Nothing Phone (2) should no longer rank in the middle class under 500 euros. Instead, according to previous information, we can expect a significant increase in performance.
When is the Nothing Phone (2) coming out?
According to current rumors, the Nothing Phone (2) could appear in the third quarter of 2023. If the manufacturer is aiming for a date similar to that of the predecessor, it could be launched at the end of July.
How much will the Nothing Phone (2) cost?
The current Nothing Phone (1) has a recommended retail price of 469 euros. Due to the expected increase in performance, a significant increase in price is almost certain. If the Nothing Phone (2) comes close to the top smartphones from other manufacturers, it could also cost twice as much as its predecessor.
What version of Android will the phone run?

design and processing
The manufacturer will probably also install the iconic LED back on the new smartphone, which is called “Glyph Interface”. The manufacturer may invest some more time in detailed improvements. The first render images show what the new back could look like.

The render image has a third camera, which should also influence the arrangement of the LED bars. You can also see a Nothing lettering on the edge of the back, which at first glance is reminiscent of a display. However, it cannot yet be confirmed whether the Nothing Phone (2) really looks like this.
It remains to be seen whether the manufacturer, like the first smartphone, relies on recycling and recycling of materials such as aluminum or plastic.

Nothing is known about the camera yet. Overall, the predecessor has a good camera with some drawbacks, which are particularly noticeable in low light. If Nothing wants to do well with the new cell phone in the upper class, they should take care of the camera again. A mobile phone under 500 euros can still be forgiven for individual errors, with a higher price different standards could apply. This does not necessarily mean that the new phone will have more than two cameras.

With 5,000 mAh, the new battery should have a little more capacity than the Nothing Phone (1) with 4,500 mAh.
