Nothing Phone (2a): Is the manufacturer really removing its identifying feature?

At the end of February, manufacturer Nothing is scheduled to present its new mid-range cell phone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). Since the end of last year, there have been increasing leaks about the Nothing Phone (2a) with the alleged design and hardware features. The latest rumor now suggests a big change – we’re talking about the removal of a feature that Nothing made known.

As 9to5Google reports, a new, supposedly official render of the phone has surfaced. This is to show the back of the Nothing Phone (2a). Noticeable: The famous Glyph lighting is missing. Until now, leakers had assumed that the manufacturer would keep the LEDs, just reduce the number of them in the cheaper model.

If Nothing actually loses its unique selling point as a budget smartphone, that would be surprising. After all, there is even the “Glyph Developer Kit”, with which developers can adapt the lighting to apps etc. themselves.

It is unclear whether the rumor comes true. Because another supposed photo of the Nothing Phone (2a) appeared on Twitter over the weekend. This again shows the first leaked design including Gylph LEDs. This cannot be seen, but the design can be recognized on the rear camera. So it remains exciting.

Technical data of the Nothing Phone (2a)

The Nothing Phone (2a) is said to have a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, which works at up to 120 Hertz. Apparently a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 is used as the processor.

The dual rear camera should deliver a resolution of 50 megapixels, while the front camera can take selfies with up to 32 megapixels. The Nothing Phone (2a) will be available in black and white.
