In the final phase of the election campaign, the top candidates of the parties represented in the state parliament answer questions from moderators on TV. Twelve days before the state elections, the top candidates from five parties meet on Tuesday (8:15 p.m.) in the WDR “election arena”. Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst (CDU), SPD opposition leader Thomas Kutschaty (SPD), Family and Refugee Minister Joachim Stamp (FDP), Green Party leader Mona Neubaur (Greens) and AfD parliamentary group leader Markus Wagner have been invited. WDR Editor-in-Chief Ellen Ehni and “Westpol” moderator Henrik houschen questioned the candidates live in front of an audience for 90 minutes on election campaign issues.
