Nutella, Coca-Cola, Ricard… The TOP 20 best-selling products in supermarkets

And the big winner is… Ricard’s 1L bottle. Among all consumer products sold in supermarkets, it is anise alcohol that comes out on top, according to the NielsenIQ ranking.

A little yellow for the apro? If you too like to be tempted, you are not the only one. Of all the products sold in supermarkets, the 1L bottle of Ricard is on the first place of the podium, followed by the pack of Cristaline (one does not go without the other!) and the 1.5L bottle of Coca-Cola. For this ranking, NielsenIQ was based on the turnover of these products achieved during the first half of 2022 in supermarkets in France. Ricard therefore records 126.8 million euros of receipts and keeps its first place, like last year.

Excluding drinks, Nutella in the lead

If we take drinks out of the equation, the best-selling product in the supermarket is Nutella (whose turnover reached 39.7 million euros). Palm oil spread is even twice in the top three of the ranking. In first place for his 1 kg pot and third with that of 825 grams. And as it is difficult to stop at a single whim, second place goes to the 300 gram jar of the Caprice des Dieux cheese.

Even if the ranking of the best-selling products remains stable from one year to the next, one in two references will indeed see its turnover decline in 2022, relates the study. No less than 16 products listed last year in the Top 100 have left the ranking this year.
