NVIDIA is preparing new graphics cards RTX 50 heading to laptops for next year.
While we are only starting to talk about the Blackwell generation on graphics cards dedicated to office machines, details related to the line-up of the laptop versions have leaked.
Of course, it is appropriate to take the information that follows with a certain distance. The leak has obviously not been confirmed by NVIDIA, which is not expected to present its products for a few more weeks.
GDDR7 at all levels
While NVIDIA remains silent for the moment, a document published by our colleagues at Wccftech sheds much of the light on this Blackwell generation planned for laptops.
The precise references and all the technical information are not revealed there, but this document allows Wccftech to take stock of the future range with at least six GPUs to equip our future laptops from the GN22-X2, the smallest in the range, to the GN22-X11.
Completed by the GN22-X9, this X11 will constitute the top of the range of this Blackwell generation for laptops. In either case, we are talking about an association with 16 GB of GDDR7.
The mid-range is stepping up its game?
On the other side of the spectrum, there would be three models – GN22-X2, GN22-X4 and GN22-X6 – still supported by GDDR7, but with just 8 GB of video memory.
Between these two extremes, a more mysterious model which surprises with its uniqueness, the GN22-X7. Of course, we are again talking about GDDR7 which in any case seems to be the standard for the Blackwell generation, but 12 GB of video memory accompany the GPU. In doing so, the GN22-X7 would take over from the GN21-X9 of the mobile GeForce RTX 4080 and confirm an increase in power on the video memory side.
This generalization of GDDR7 and a potential increase in the quantity of memory are the two points to remember from this leak which also confirms that Blackwell for laptops are planned for “current-2025” without further details.
