On PC, the end of the year was marked by the launch of Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4000. These new graphics cards are extremely powerful, but also very expensive. A few days before the expected launch of AMD’s Radeon RX 7000, Nvidia France announces a price drop on its latest products.

up to 90 euros reduction

Officially, this price update is there to follow the evolution of the course between the euro and the dollar. Since the announcement of the products in October, the euro has indeed started to rise again. In fact, these price changes are currently only announced in Europe to our knowledge. In the United States, Nvidia has not changed its prices.

Here are the new official prices in France from Nvidia:

Since launch, these new cards have been criticized for their prohibitive prices. This price drop can therefore only make them more interesting, in particular the GeForce RTX 4090 which is aimed at professionals.

And the partners?

The prices announced by Nvidia concern above all its Founder Edition cards. Other manufacturers like Asus, Gigabyte, MSI or Zotac can offer the prices they want, just like merchants. We can still hope for a price drop from them as well.

Bad news for scalpers

For several years, consumers have been dealing with a painful phenomenon: scalpers. These are people buying a batch of graphics cards very quickly and taking advantage of low stocks to resell them at a much higher price.

Unfortunately for them, it seems that the GeForce RTX 4000 market is very difficult to scalp based on initial US feedback. Indeed, the unscrupulous people concerned would have a hard time reselling their merchandise above the already high official price.

It’s not a price drop in euros that should fix their business.
