It’s not tomorrow the day before that we will be able to enjoy a Graphic card Ada Lovelace at less than 700 euros.

In quick succession, two pieces of news fall about what will logically be a new downgrade (and price) for the latest generation of GPUs imagined by NVIDIA.

Released in two stages, on April 12 and 13

First, our colleagues from VideoCardz have actually released an image that illustrates the American brand’s schedule for the GeForce RTX 4070. And this schedule changes NVIDIA’s habits.

On April 12, it will therefore be a question of revealing said card to the public and, no doubt, of taking stock of its performance as well as the integration of DLSS 3, a trademark of the Ada Lovelace generation. On the other hand, things are then a little unusual.

Also on April 12, journalists will be able to publish their articles about products “at the MSRP” (Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price). In other words, only the cards that will indeed be sold at the price recommended by NVIDIA. This will of course concern the Founders Edition.

For partner models, the question will therefore be whether some plan to follow NVIDIA’s pricing recommendations. As long as the card is not sold at MSRP, items will have to wait one more day, until April 13, 2023.

A price of at least 749 dollars?

This will obviously not make a big difference for readers, but we imagine that NVIDIA is trying to insist on the indicative price it recommends for its cards. The latter has not been announced for this RTX 4070.

Here we enter the realm of rumor, insofar as VideoCardz presents a document that appears official to support its information. For its part, for the MSRP of the card, TechPowerUp just cites Moore’s Law Is Dead, an influencer who has previously spread misinformation.

So let’s keep a certain distance from the price of 749 dollars that he advances for the RTX 4070 Founders Edition when it is released on April 12. That price is only $50 lower than the 4070 Ti, but is more likely to be met, since that model didn’t get a Founders Edition.

For the cards produced by the partners, the famous “custom”, it is a question of starting at 799.99 dollars. In these times of inflation, the two prices do not seem out of touch with reality, but being the naïve people that we are, we always hope to see them go a little lower.
