NVIDIA STUDIO STARS 2: here are the 4 epic trailers that won the competition

This is the end of the NVIDIA STUDIO STARS 2 competition, which ended after a month of competition. After viewing all the trailers, the jury met: here are the 4 big winners of this second edition.

Three months after awarding the most beautiful 3D creations in the NVIDIA STUDIO STARS competition, the jury meets again, this time to elect the most original and captivating video montages of this second edition.

Participants had one month, from April 30 to May 30, 2024, to put together an epic 30-second trailer based on provided footage. There were 218 self-taught, professional or passionate editors joining the adventure, and we thank you!

As with the first competition, the entries were numerous and of high quality. The jury, made up of the editor of Youtube stars, Sam, experts from NVIDIA, as well as the editorial staff of Numerama, struggled to decide between the candidates.

It is now time to discover the four big winners of these NVIDIA STUDIO STARS 2.

Here are the 4 trailers that stood out during the NVIDIA STUDIO STARS 2

The Gold Star award goes to Gabrwl for his project “Astral Splinter the revenger”

Comment from the jury/competitor on the image depending on the context

The theme is completely respected and mastered: from the rhythm to the sound design through to the choice of royalty-free visuals, everything is admirably well orchestrated.

Sat

Well-integrated special effects, impeccable work on sound and music and intelligent integration of the base material: very clearly, the Gabrwl trailer is above the rest.

Numerama

Big winner of this second edition, Gabrwl wins the LDLC Zi Artist 7 Studio fixed PC equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Super 16 GB, worth 2,449.95 euros.

With this tower, Gabrwl shouldn’t have to wait much longer when he edits videos in the coming weeks. The ZI Artist 7 Studio PC designed by LDLC is a war machine. It features an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Super 16 GB graphics card, a 14th generation Intel Core i7 processor (2023), 32 GB of RAM and a 2 TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD.

All that will remain is to install the NVIDIA Studio drivers on it, and software like Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve should see their video export time be divided by 9.

The Silver Star prize is awarded to Jules Billat for his creation “Péril en orbit”

The theme is mastered, the editing is rich and well-paced. The details on the sound design and the integration efforts bring character and elevate the trailer.

A real favorite for this epic and frankly effective trailer. The editing, rhythm and integration of additional rushes are a work of art.

The Bronze Star award goes to Obviews for its creation “Troyan”

Superb staging, the effort of production is admirable. The added shots match perfectly with those of the shots in the initial video and bring strong added value to the story-telling of the trailer.

Sat

Prize for originality without a doubt. We had to dare to integrate additional shots to make them match the original video. The result is surprising and completely transforms a “simple” PC editing video.
