Obi-Wan Kenobi: Darth Vader will be like never before

Iconic character of the Stars Wars saga, Darth Vader will be present in “Obi-Wan Kenobi”, but he will be different from the one that fans have known in the films, confided Deborah Show, the showrunner of the series to discover everything soon on Disney+.

“I really wanted to do something that was based on the characters and focused on them, because that’s the advantage of the mini-series, explained the young woman in a recent interview for Entertainment Weekly, rejoicing to have thus “more time to tell a real character story”.

And it’s a Darth Vader not yet fully turned to the dark side of the Force that Star Wars fans are about to discover. According to Deborah Chow, Anakin Skywalker “sits between these two trilogies. So he’s not Vader from A New Hope yet, you know what I mean? So we’re kind of in the middle of that period with the character. It’s still Vader obviously, but it’s a Vader who isn’t as fully formed as in A New Hope.”

However, he will already be “extremely powerful”, as actor Hayden Christensen, who is reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker, told EW recently. “His shadow is everywhere in the series. And the degree of closeness to his shadow is something yet to be discovered. But he is very emotionally present for Obi-Wan, and perhaps much more, “said Joby Harold, one of the screenwriters.

Remember that the action of the Obi-Wan Kenobi mini-series takes place ten years after the events of Star Wars, episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005).

The first episode will be released on May 25 on Disney+.
