The British actor tempers by explaining that the series was designed as a “limited series”. It details: “It was designed as a mini-series. And, in a sense, it does the job very well, in my opinion, of building a bridge between Chapters III and IV, bringing me a little closer to the version of Obi-Wan played by Alec Guinness in A New Hope”. continues the actor.
Moreover, Ewan McGregor claims to have been inspired by the diction of Alec Guinnesswho plays the character in episode 4 of the saga. “Obi-Wan is still Alec Guinness to me. When I play it, I always have to have a bit of Alec Guinness in mind. My mission has always been to grow my Obi-Wan Kenobi into Alec Guinness, so I always have Alec on my mind”which specifies “wanting to make him sound familiar, like the way he speaks and the rhythm of his sentences”.
For its part, Disney + does not exclude the possibility of bringing back Obi-Wan and others for an additional season. Kathleen Kennedy, director of Lucasfilm, leaves the door open to a possible sequel: “cIt’s definitely something we talk about, mainly because everyone got together and had an amazing time”.
