When “Obi-Wan Kenobi” starts streaming on Disney + on May 25, 2022, fans of the “Star Wars” universe can not only look forward to Ewan McGregor’s return. It has recently been announced that Hayden Christensen will also return as the legendary villain Darth Vader.
Probably the most famous villain in film history is a number in his own right and everyone who faces Vader has to swallow at first. The feeling for Christensen was probably similarly impressive when he was again in the black armor of the Sith Lord.
“Without giving too many details, it was great,” reveals Christensen in an interview with US magazine Entertainment Weekly, “It was a great honor to have the suit put back on”.
“It was very exciting because I spent so much time with this character and felt like I knew him and coming back felt very natural. And it was just great to come back and Darth Vader to this point in the timeline to play because it felt like a natural progression of the character,” states Christensen.
But it was even more overwhelming for the actor when he saw his long-time co-star Ewan McGregor again in the costume of the legendary Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi: “I can tell you, the first time I saw Ewan as Obi-Wan again, That was a special moment for me and one that I will remember for a very, very long time.”
