This is a major event that Star Wars fans would not have missed for the world: the fight between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader, the first since Revenge of the Sith, 17 years ago. In episode 3 of the Disney+ series, the two characters meet again. The sequence is all the stronger since the Jedi master has just learned that Anakin Skywalker was still alive and that he is hiding under the helmet of the Dark Lord.
If the emotion is present on the screen, it was also present on the film set. During Obi-Wan Kenobi’s promotion, Ewan McGregor repeatedly spoke about his intimidating reunion with Darth Vader. In a recent interview for EntertainmentTonightthe actor reveals that the scene attracted a crowd of technicians, eager to follow this epic moment.
“Hundreds of people arrived on set to see Hayden Christensen in the Vader costumehe recalls. I was like, ‘Why are there so many people today?’, and then Hayden came out and I was like, ‘Oh yeah sure, that’s what they’re all here for. Everyone is here to see the moment.”
He pursues : “I had never seen a team react like this when he arrived. It was one of the greatest filming moments I’ve ever experienced..”
Asked about the future of Darth Vader and the possibility of one day seeing a series centered on the character, Hayden Christensen said to himself: “There are certainly other things to explore. There are so many other stories that have been told in other formats. I would love to continue my adventure with him.”
