But before working on such projects, the management of the studio could have been very different since its CEO Feargus Urquhart revealed in an interview with Game Pressure that he and his teams could have worked on a game Avatar 2 few years ago.

In this exchange with the English site, Feargus Urquhart admits that a game Avatar 2 was envisaged by James Cameron’s teams, who had met those of Obsidian a few years ago:
“ Avatar 2 just came out and James Cameron spent 10 or 15 years making it. At the time, we were talking with them about making an Avatar 2 game… I don’t even know for how long. Eight, six years, something like that. »
See a game Avatar Being entrusted to a studio like Obsidian would surely have been interesting, but it is no longer in the plans. The future of the science fiction saga in video games will be written with Ubisoft, since the French publisher must release Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora in the months or years to come.
Fallout, always in the back of your mind
Feargus Urquhart was also asked about the possibility of a new episode of the series fallout by Obsidian. The studio has never hidden its desire to find this universe and rumors suggested that Microsoft also wanted a Fallout New Vegas 2 see the day. If it is not yet in the pipes, Feargus Urquhart does not hesitate to show his interest in the thing:
” We’re not working on it at the moment, our schedule is already pretty full with Avowed, Grounded and Outer Worlds 2. I don’t know when we’ll start talking about new games, maybe towards the end of 2023. I would love to do another Fallout before I retire. I don’t know when it will be, because I don’t know the date of my retirement. »
He goes on to state that if a new fallout sees the light of day under his direction, it will focus primarily on the story and the characters, the two most important things in the series according to him.
There is no doubt that fans of Fallout New Vegas now hope the studio will be given that chance to work on the RPG series again.
