An extremely talented fan has split a presentation of several iconic places ofOcarina of Time in light of the Unreal Engine 5.

Known under the pseudonym CryZENx, the German artist had already become known for his work on an Unreal Engine 4 version of the absolutely cult title. For the pleasure of the eyes, he takes us in a new video to the Lon Lon Ranch and Hyrule Market, more beautiful than ever.

An embellished legend

It’s been 6 months now that CryZENx has been working on a complete rehabilitation of the legendary Nintendo 64 game (released 25 years ago, it doesn’t make us any younger) on the Unreal Engine 5, the latest and promising iteration of the famous Epic, currently in version 5.1.

A few days ago, the artist released a new video to introduce fans of his project and the game to the latest developments in his work. After the Kokiri Forest, the Hyrule Fields, the Temple of Time and the Cocorico village, destination this time the Ranch Lon Lon and the Hyrule market!

In this 11-minute video, the artist presents two iconic locations from the game in a completely different light, with stunningly updated textures and characters.

Between tribute and modernity

If he is not the only one who wanted to dust off the legendary Ocarina of Time by injecting it with a good dose of Unreal Engine 5, CryZENx stands out from its colleagues by its respect for the source material.

The artist indeed offers a new hypnotizing look at this pearl of the first 3D games, without distorting its essence. The visual overhaul is as faithful (and much more beautiful) than the official remaster released on 3DS in 2011.

This true titanic work therefore commands respect and leads us to hope that we will one day be entitled to a playable version of this “fan-remaster” of a video game monument under Unreal Engine 5. Hoping, however, that Nintendo does not unleash not his lawyers on CryZENx, as unfortunately happens all too often.
