In Austria, the number of beds in intensive care units occupied by Covid patients has exceeded the threshold of 300, according to the authorities.
With a delay of one week, level two of the five-level corona measures applies. Visits to the night gastronomy and various large events are then only possible for those who have recovered and who have been vaccinated.
There are also changes in this level of measures with regard to the antigen tests with self-approval. In Austria they are called “living room tests”. These are now no longer valid as evidence for areas with 3G entry rule, reports «Oe24».
Unvaccinated people face lockdown at 30 percent load
If the number climbs above 500, the 2G rule applies in all 3G areas. When the intensive care beds in the hospitals are used to 30 percent with Covid patients, unvaccinated people have to go into lockdown!
30 percent occupancy corresponds to 600 intensive care beds in Austria. Leaving the apartment is then only possible in exceptional cases, for example to go to work or go shopping.
Extreme increase in normal wards in hospitals
On Tuesday, 317 intensive care beds were needed for corona patients, an increase of 25 compared to the previous day. The number of patients in the normal wards increased particularly significantly – by 145 to 1,600. The new infections were 5398 within 24 hours.
The 7-day incidence climbed to 400 cases per 100,000 population. The federal states of Salzburg, Upper and Lower Austria are particularly affected. If the situation worsens, there is a risk of drastic restrictions for unvaccinated people, which can even lead to a lockdown for this group.
In Austria, 62.7 percent of the population have been fully vaccinated so far. (SDA / man)
