A Spy Among Friends

Guy Pearce (Memento), Damian Lewis (Billions) and a true story of espionage against the backdrop of the Cold War: here is the tempting poster that OCS offers us to set foot in this year 2023. New mini-series which could quickly become an addiction, A Spy Among Friends opens the intriguing and fascinating doors of MI6 in the 1950s.

Based on the eponymous book by Ben Macintyre and inspired by the true story of an English spy who worked as a double agent for the Soviet Union, this thriller by Alexander Cary in 6 episodes was filmed between London and Romania. It explores the relationship between two longtime friends and colleagues, and how the betrayal of one will have a huge impact on relations between Russia and the West.

A nugget under high tension, to discover from January 3 on OCS.

With Matias Varela (Narcos) and Julia Ragnarsson (Midsommar), Blinded is the new bomb straight from Sweden. A thriller mixing financial scandal and corruption, the first season of which is to be discovered from January 24 on OCS, before a second season from February 21.

The Lazarus Project

Discovered in I May Destroy You, Paapa Essiedu becomes George in The Lazarus Project, a young man who, after witnessing the end of the world, goes back in time and is immediately recruited by a special unit. Here he is then propelled into a huge project intended precisely to counter the extinction of the planet.

To do this, he will have to use his power in order to prevent global catastrophes. But when his wife is killed, George is faced with a dilemma: save the world at the expense of love, or risk destroying everything to save the one he loves. With 8 first episodes landing in February on OCS, this series should not fail to keep you in suspense.

The name of Paul Feig must necessarily evoke something for series fans! After successes such as Freaks & Geeks, The Office or Love Life, the comedy specialist producer returns with Minx. Scheduled for March on OCS, this series with Ophelia Lovibond (Guardians of the Galaxy), Jake Johnson (New Girl) and Jessica Lowe (Wrecked), among others, focuses on sexuality and the liberation of women in the years 70.

We meet Joyce, a militant feminist who, in Los Angeles, joins forces with a crooked publisher to create the first women’s erotic magazine. A modern comedy in 10 episodes to be found in March on OCS, before a new burst of episodes a few months later.

The Walking Dead: Dead City

When it’s gone, there’s more with The Walking Dead! In Dead City, Maggie and Negan travel to a post-apocalyptic Manhattan long cut off from the mainland. The ruined city is now populated by the dead and inhabitants who have made New York an anarchic and terrifying world. A horror drama in 6 episodes, which will arrive in the spring on OCS.

Presented in competition at CANNESERIES 2021, Christian immerses us in a universe as dark as it is supernatural, illuminated by the impeccable performance of Edoardo Pesce (Dogman) in the title role. Missing out on this Italian series would be a sin!

When, at 25, she bumps into her former high school friend Alice Kang, the memories of the difficult year they spent together at the girls’ boarding school resurface.

Touching and evocative, this drama by Corrie Chen (New Gold Mountain) uncompromisingly tackles the themes of sexuality, harassment and power games. Based on the novel by Rebecca Starford, the story is distinguished by its narration in two temporalities to better perceive the devastating consequences of acts of the past on the present.
