OCS: many series are leaving the catalog, but why?

Since January 1, around sixty series have left the catalog of the OCS platform, from “Game Of Thrones” to “Sex and the City”. Explanations.

Big change for OCS. Since January 1, 2023, many series from the HBO channel have left the platform – in total, nearly sixty-four titles according to Numerama. Signed in 2008, the contract that linked the French group to the American channel – renewed several times – has not been renewed for 2023.

Therefore, series like Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, Sex and the City, Big Little Lies, Chernobyl, True Detective or Six Feet Under are no longer available and cannot be found on other platforms either.

However, programs released less than two years ago are still offered to the general public. It is therefore not too late to catch up with House of the Dragon, the seasons of White Lotus, His Dark Materials or even Euphoria.

As we write these lines, it is impossible to know where the HBO series will be broadcast in France. The adaptation of The Last Of Us has not yet found a broadcaster. The end of this contract between the giant Orange and HBO was to prepare for the arrival of a new streaming platform in France, but this launch was once again delayed.
