October 8th with top acts – Rockhouse Salzburg celebrates its 29th anniversary

You have to celebrate the festivals as they come: After the Corona turmoil, the Rockhouse takes this saying to heart more than ever. On October 8th, Salzburg’s club institution will have a phat birthday party with Camo&Krooked, among other things.

But before the lights go on for the 29th on October 8th in the Schallmooser Hauptstraße 46, the tiresome topic of energy will also be discussed in the cultural scene. “The cheapest electricity is the one that we don’t use,” jokes Wolfgang Descho. In view of the rapidly increasing electricity and gas prices, do you hear gallows humor from the Rockhouse boss? No. Thanks to a good nose, Salzburg’s music club institution already focused on energy efficiency during the lockdown during renovation work (keyword: LED lighting). In addition, Descho and Co. are very popular with the public: “The demand for music as a shared live experience is unbroken,” says program director Wolf Arrer. And: “Numerous concerts are already sold out”. Now the Rockhouse is back on track to pre-pandemic numbers. Fall is packed with quality acts. These include the German indie rock legends Tocotronic (October 25) with their contemporary new album “Nie wieder Krieg”, as well as the black humorous Viennese Voodoo Jürgens (December 4), Cari Cari (October 11) and Mia (February 24). The bluegrass troupe The Dead South (November 17), “Gott of Schlager” Christian Steiffen (February 22) and the London rock’n’roll evergreens The Godfathers (October 18) will also brighten up the dull season autumnal music already on October 8th – with a big party. The Rockhouse celebrates the 29er – thanks to appearances by music producers, pop musicians and rappers Mavi Phoenix (album “Marlon”) – like an anniversary. The evening will be led by the Viennese electro greats Camo & Krooked, who will be back on their local club floor after a five-year break. An extensive DJ program is of course included in the party.
