In Wales, an 83-year-old pensioner died after being attacked by a dog that broke into her home. Four people were arrested.
A very violent death. In Caerphilly, South Wales, 83-year-old retired nurse Shirley Patrick is died after being attacked by a dog who broke into his home. Victim of “traumatic lacerations” and of “major injuries“Head, body, face and arms, the octogenarian finally died after 17 days of hospitalization.
Forensic police officer Caroline Saunders said the victim died of “a sepsis caused by pneumonia and infected scalp wounds“. The retiree’s 66-year-old son was also taken to hospital with minor injuries, but his life is not in danger.
The euthanized dog
An investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of this tragedy and to find out how such a dog could have entered this house.
Four peoplesuspected of being in charge of the dog at the origin of the tragedy, were arrested. All were later released on bail. For his part, the dog, a black American Bully crossed with a Cane Corso, was seized by the agents before being euthanized.
This tragedy is not the first to occur in this small town in Wales. Indeed, as the Sun reports, in November 2021, a 10-year-old schoolboy, Jack Lis, was also killed by a dog, just 800 meters from the home of Shirley Patrick.
