Offered sweets – men wanted to lure elementary school students into a minibus

There is huge excitement among parents in Böheimkirchen in the St. Pölten district. Three men are said to have approached several students in order to lure them into a white van. The police are responding to the incidents with an increased presence.

After school ended on Tuesday afternoon, several students from the elementary school in Kasten near Böheimkirchen went to the nearest bus stop. A white van is said to have stopped in the immediate vicinity. According to the children, there were three men wearing dark clothing inside. At least one of them was wearing a cap, another had curly hair and a checkered shirt. One of these strangers is said to have approached the boys and girls and asked them if they would like chocolate or other sweets. The elementary school students were also told that their school bus would be an hour late, but that they would like to take them home. “Take incidents very seriously.” However, according to the police, the children reacted in an exemplary manner and rejected the “offer”. The van then drove away in an unknown direction. At least two mothers reported the incident shortly afterwards. The officers contacted the school administration. “We take such incidents very seriously and will patrol the schools more,” said the local police.
