“Stromberg” is celebrating an unexpected comeback! The reason: Actor Christoph Maria Herbst is supposed to encourage vaccination.

Actually, Christoph Maria Herbst (55) said goodbye to his star role in 2014. In the context of the German vaccination campaign, however, the actor is now again transformed into the office disgust “Stromberg”. The commercials can be seen on ProSieben, Sky and Comedy Central, among others, as the production company Brainpool announced on Tuesday (December 14th).

Bernd Stromberg can be seen in a total of six short films, each almost 30 seconds long. As usual, he initially stoically resists the spades and compares the corona vaccination pot in a clip for example with liver sausage. In another he invents a quote without further ado by Albert Einstein (1879-1955). Stromberg’s statements are refuted by a superimposed fact that is read to the audience. In the end, the unfriendly office boss can be vaccinated every time.

“The situation is so serious that we had to bring papa back”

“Stromberg” inventor Ralf Husmann (57) was responsible for the short commercials. “The situation is so serious that we had to bring papa back,” he explains the funny action. “He’s basically skeptical. At work, with women and also with vaccinations.” But if even Bernd Stromberg can be convinced in the end, “we will hopefully convince one or the other”, continues Husmann.

With the six advertising clips, the creators support the campaign “Germany rolls up the # SleevesHoch” of the Federal Ministry of Health, the Federal Center for Health Education and the Robert Koch Institute. You can also see them on the “MySpass” YouTube channel.

Actor Christoph Maria Herbst became known throughout Germany from 2004 through the personification of the common office tyrant Stromberg. The series based on the model of the British original “The Office” ran until 2012. The movie “Stromberg – The Film” followed two years later.
