Official in court – First trial around Hallein town hall posse

Breach of official secrecy? The deputy chief of the city of Hallein has to answer to the Salzburg regional court on Thursday.

The accusation: The top official is said to have passed on details of the alleged misconduct of his superior – the now suspended city director – to the media. Specifically, it is about an official report not intended for the public, which has been leaked to the press. Mayor Alexander Stangassinger recently called the criminal complaint a “scandal” to the “Krone”. He assumes that “dirt is being thrown with might and main from many quarters and on many levels to bluff me and my team”. Independent of this process, the suspended office director himself is also charged. This is also a violation of official secrecy. There is no trial date yet.
