Vivo has been shooting for a few years now on its high-end smartphones, and the new generation promises to be quite interesting in this area thanks to the year of all-new sensors from Sony and Samsung. Unsurprisingly, smartphones are also powered by super-powerful processors. The Vivo X80 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000while the Vivo X80 Pro benefits from two versions, one with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and the other with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000.

The Vivo X80 Pro is equipped with a 6.78-inch QHD+ LTPO 2.0 120Hz AMOLED displaywhile the classic X80 model uses a 6.78-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display. The Pro version benefits from a 4700 mAh battery, against 4500 mAh for the most affordable model, but both are compatible with the 80W wired fast charging. Unfortunately, only the Vivo X80 Pro offers 50W fast wireless chargingthus aligning itself with some of its competitors such as the OnePlus 10 Pro.

Vivo puts everything on the photo with its X80 and X80 Pro

The Vivo X80 is the first to take advantage ofa new generation Sony sensor, the IMX866. This 50-megapixel sensor is the direct successor to the IMX766 which has been fitted to a large number of smartphones in recent years, from the OnePlus Nord 2 to the high-end OPPO Find X5 Pro. It is accompanied by a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor as well as a 12 MP 2X telephoto lens.

For its part, the Vivo X80 relies on a configuration with four cameras. We find a brand new ISOCELL CNG 50 MP sensor from Samsung, which succeeds the GN1 that Vivo has been using for several generations now. Thanks to its large size of 1/1.31 inch, it will allow the smartphone to capture excellent shots day and night. The main sensor is accompanied by a 48 MP ultra-wide-angle IMX598 sensor, a 12 MP 2X telephoto lens as well as an 8 MP periscope offering 5X optical zoom. The lenses are signed Zeiss, as was already the case on previous models.

The particularity of the Vivo X80 Pro is above all its in-house ISP V1+. Like the MariSiliconX chip of the OPPO Find X5 Pro, it takes care of the processing of the shots and improves the quality of the photos. The smartphone is also equipped with stereo speakers.

The Vivo X80 and X80 Pro are currently only available in China at respective prices starting at 3699 yuan (529 euros) and 5499 yuan (786 euros). However, we know that smartphones should be launched with us on May 8Vivo having started a countdown on its official website.
