Our skin ages, that’s logical. And we can deal with that. But we really don’t have to look older than we are. Then watch out, because these make-up mistakes easily cheat for a few years. Does not have to be.

Concealer, mascara and co. can be real miracle cures. Farewell to dark circles, hello to the look of the eyes and more freshness anyway. But the exact opposite can also happen and all the products make us look more wrinkled, tired and older – luckily this can easily be avoided. We reveal make-up mistakes that make us older than we are and show how it can be done better.

Applied too thick

Every skin has structure, wrinkles and bumps. They can be easily concealed with the right products and, above all, the right dosage. Error number one: too much product. It looks like a mask and clogged up very quickly and puts pores and the like in the right, uh, wrong light. The solution is simple. Start with little product, see the result and then use more if we want. The same also applies to powder. A great helper for the occasional visit, but our worst enemy when he shows up too often.

look into my eyes

Our goal: to open eyes, make them look bigger and make them radiant. So away with black kajal on the waterline (a lighter one has a much greater effect), too dark colors under the eyes and sticky eyelashes! That can hardly look fresh. More naturalness is announced! The eyes appear more open if we sometimes leave out the mascara on the lower lash line and use natural shades on the lid. Brown mascara emphasizes enough but is more subtle.

Old but not gold

We have already experienced and participated in many make-up trends. Have you ever looked at old photos and paid attention to your eyebrows? Uff, better not! We like to try new, trendy things, but there are things that really don’t have to be. Please say goodbye to the dead-plucked streak eyebrows – we’re clearly not in the 90s anymore! Even with colorful eyeshadows, we have to be careful or really know exactly what we’re doing with them. And please, please, please: just leave the hyped baking trend in the kitchen. Means something like: Do not fix concealer under the eye with heaps of powder. First, it’s incredibly drying on sensitive skin, and there’s almost nothing that accentuates under-eye wrinkles more. Less is more. Filling in your own eyebrows, covering up blemishes and making your face look fresher is also possible without trends that have already been out the door three times.

Dark, darker, oldest

No matter what age, dark lips quickly appear strict and then automatically make us look older. We can’t say it often enough, but here too: less is more. accentuate lips? Sure, but correct please. Instead of using the pasty liquid lipstick, which is matt and makes the lips kind of dry, just grab the gloss. When it comes to lipstick, we prefer to go for peach, nude and soft red tones instead of going through the stress of a dark colour. In the worst case, it has to be constantly touched up and only looks great if it is applied flawlessly to the lips. And if the paint also makes you look old, we certainly don’t waste any energy on it.
