Juventus took the lead through a Matthijs de Ligt header; Torino captain Andrea Belotti, who had just returned from a long injury break, deservedly equalized in the 62nd minute.

(sda/dpa) Nigeria’s top sprinter Blessing Okagbare has been banned for ten years for doping violations. This was announced by the independent integration commission (AIU) of the world athletics association.

The ban is so high because Okagbare was caught with several banned substances (including EPO and human growth hormones) and she also refused to provide the necessary documents to clarify the allegations. According to the AIU, the 33-year-old is said to have been involved in an “organized doping program” in the run-up to the Tokyo Olympics.

Okagbare was suspended at the Summer Games just hours before her 100m semifinal. The 2008 Olympic silver medalist in the long jump can appeal the decision before the International Court of Arbitration for Sport CAS within 30 days.

(sda) The San Jose Sharks lost 4-5 at home to the Vancouver Canucks after overtime. The fact that the Sharks got a point is thanks to Timo Meier, who scored twice and provided an assist.

Meier played the pass to make it 4:4, which came in the last second of regular time. Before that, the man from Herisau had made it 2:3 and 3:3 in the second third and at the beginning of the final section. Meier has reached 50 scorer points in the current NHL season (23 goals/27 assists). In the scorer list he is in 17th place.

Personally, Philipp Kuraschew was also very successful on Friday night. He scored one goal and one assist. But his Chicago Blackhawks lost 7-4 at home to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

A penalty shoot-out had to decide between the New York Rangers and the Detroit Red Wings when the score was 2:2. After every five shooters, the short decision was 1:1. Pius Suter scored as the sixth shooter and secured the second point for the Red Wings.

Ingebrigtsen thus erased the record of Ethiopian Samuel Tefera, who ran the 1500 meters in Birmingham three years ago in 3:31.04 minutes. Ingebrigtsen became Olympic champion in the 1500 meters last summer in Tokyo.

Another Tokyo Olympic champion, Marcell Jacobs of Italy, beat Americans Cravont Charleston (6.52) and Elijah Hall (6.57) in the 60-meter sprint in 6.50 seconds. Jacobs, the sensational Olympic champion over 100 meters, is aiming for the indoor world title in Belgrade in March.
