Olaf Scholz spoke in an interview about his plans as Federal Chancellor and his wishes for Christmas.

Olaf Scholz (63) has in an interview with “Bild am Sonntag” talked about his future life as Federal Chancellor. “During the election campaign you saw how much I like the direct exchange, the contact with the citizens. I think that it must also be possible as Chancellor,” explains Scholz. Explaining politics is at least his goal. In doing so, however, he will keep his style: “I grew up in Hamburg and now live in Brandenburg, I will not change my sober nature any more.”

That is why he is grateful to Angela Merkel’s husband

To what extent his wife Britta Ernst (60), Minister of Education in Brandenburg, will accompany him in his new daily work has not yet been determined. “My wife Britta Ernst is very successful and has a lot to do as state minister. This task demands great commitment. The rest will show itself,” says Scholz. In any case, he was “very grateful to Angela Merkel’s (67) husband Joachim Sauer (72) for his relaxed approach to his role”.

In addition to his work as Federal Chancellor, Scholz does not want to neglect his sporting activities in any case: “My jogging laps will continue to be anchored in the calendar.” For the coming Christmas party, the 63-year-old would like “a few days of rest. For now, however, I am concentrating on my work”.
