Oliver Pocher commented on the slapping incident in a video. He is looking forward to the talks with his attacker – in court.

Oliver Pocher (44) commented on Instagram about the brutal slap he received from a man on Saturday.

Pocher had attended a boxing match in Dortmund when the man hit him in the face without warning. Apparently the action was planned, because it was also filmed. The video circulated online. Now Pocher expresses himself in a 14-minute video on Instagram for the first time in detail about the incident.

He had never seen “the guy” before, said Pocher. “It was a number that doesn’t work at all. It’s cowardly, it’s sneaky, it’s malicious, it’s filmed, it could have turned out differently in several respects…” His ear was “pretty bad”, it said irreparable damage could remain. He had been to the doctor several times and could no longer hear certain frequency ranges.

“We’re talking about a capital crime”

“We’re not talking about some funny slap in the face. We’re talking about a capital crime,” Pocher clarifies his view of things. “You can’t say if you don’t like someone, then they can be hit, then you can treat them however you want. This world doesn’t work that way […] Even if that happened to you, I wouldn’t even think it’s a good thing,” he says to the attacker. Violence is not a solution.

He is looking forward to the talks with him in court, says Pocher. “We will clarify that in court and with all means in the near future.” The comedian announced that there would be a “proper” bill. He hopes for the “maximum penalty”, it will be an expensive event. Pocher also announced that he would distribute the money to causes that needed it more urgently than he did.

He is also working to ensure that all of the man’s social media accounts are turned off, according to Pocher. “You shouldn’t even get a Tinder account.” He will not be intimidated or lose his sense of humor.

Amira Pocher (29), the comedian’s wife, had previously commented on the incident in an Instagram story. Such an “unemployed, semi-strong would-be rapper/comedian” gave her husband “a slap in the face, but a decent one”.

“It’s for everyone you’ve put down – and whatever,” said the attacker about the video, according to Amira Pocher, among other things. “This beating down… People, these are all people who can defend themselves – and a person who has an opinion. But fighting something like that with violence and then celebrating… You should be ashamed, really.”
