Oliver Pocher: “I am forever connected to Hans Meiser”

The comedian, entertainer and presenter Oliver Pocher (45) also says goodbye to the great TV legend Hans Meiser (1946-2023). What many people don’t know: The late presenter was basically the discoverer of Pocher. It was Meiser who chose Pocher for his television show in 1999, enabling him to do a one-week internship at the former music station VIVA in the show “Interaktiv”. Pocher then received a permanent position and started his career.

Now Pocher remembers on his official Instagram account about the crucial situations with Meiser: “As I found out today, Hans Meiser has died.” For him, he and his show were “the absolute turning point in my life.” Without the cult presenter and his team, he would never have ended up at VIVA and would never have been able to start his dream job.

Oliver Pocher is grateful

He also posted a picture of himself and Meiser from the show at the time. He further wrote in his post: “For this I am grateful to Hans Meiser to this day and forever connected.” He wishes his family and friends a lot of strength during this difficult time.

Hans Meiser died suddenly of heart failure at the age of 77. To this day he is considered a television icon, the man from the very beginning of private television and a pioneer of talk show formats in the 90s. After moving to RTL plus in the 1980s, Meiser was initially an anchorman for the local news programs. In 1992 he started with “Hans Meiser” and the show was only discontinued in 2000.
