Olivia Wilde is expected to direct a superhero film. It is said to be "Spider-Woman".
After her acclaimed directorial debut, the high school comedy "Booksmart", Olivia Wilde (36) will soon be back in the director's chair. As the US industry journal "Deadline" reports, Wilde is to work on behalf of Sony Pictures on a Marvel project that revolves around a female heroine. As the site continues to write, it is said to be "Spider-Woman".
Official confirmation is still pending, but Wilde himself shared the related article on Twitter and put a spider emoji on him. Spider-Woman has already been the alter ego of three fictional comic book characters in the past: Jessica Drew, Mary Jane Watson and Gwen Stacy. It is not yet clear which of the three in Wilde's film could be at the center of the plot.
