The boss of the Les Républicains group in the National Assembly, however, believes that he does not have to “cast stones at them”.

They were estimated to be around 15 in number. In the end, 19 Republican deputies voted in favor of the cross-partisan censure motion, rejected yesterday in the National Assembly. Thus going against the president of the right-wing party, Éric Ciotti, who had affirmed that no LR parliamentarian would vote for a text rejecting the government.

I can’t blame them“says this March 21 morning Olivier Marleix on BFMTV. The boss of the LR deputies in the National Assembly continues: “I respect the convictions of each of my colleagues, I fully understand that they did not want to take on a reform carried out despite everything by Emmanuel Macron.” Thus, he believes, everyone exercises their mandate and votes responsibly“. “I don’t have to blame them.»

Olivier Marleix has, however, traced a “limit“, there “only“: “These are the people who change their minds or are too lacking in loyalty.Without, of course, naming names. “Most deputies vote in conscience, I respect their choice: they considered that the form also counted and that this reform had lacked too much social dialogue. Before concluding, however:I regret that we did not give a united face and that this confused our voters.»
