EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW – The CEO of Bouygues comments on the group’s annual results and the acquisition of Equans from Engie.
Bouygues seems to have completely digested the Covid 19 pandemic. Last year, its turnover increased by 8%, to 37.6 billion euros, almost returning to its 2019 level. The group has reached or exceeded all its annual objectives, and its current operating margin, at 4.5% last year, is higher than its 2019 level.

Already present in construction with three businesses (Bouygues construction, Bouygues Immobilier and Colas), telecoms (Bouygues Telecom) and media (TF1, which is planning a merger with M6), the Bouygues group is diversifying into multi-technical services. Announced in early November, the takeover of Equans from Engie, for 6.7 billion euros, should be completed in the second half.
