Olly Murs has canceled his summer tour. The reason is a major knee operation that the singer had to undergo.

Olly Murs (37) is currently recovering from a “major knee operation” in the hospital as he writes on Instagram. “I did my best to avoid this surgery, but it was necessary and it went well,” the singer tells his fans. In the three accompanying photos, the 37-year-old shows himself on crutches, in the hospital bed and presents his operated leg.

The ‘Heart Skips a Beat’ singer also announced that all of his summer concerts this year could not take place. He needs to focus on his rehabilitation and recovery. “I’m so damn sorry,” he turns to his fans. “I’ll keep you all posted on how I’m doing!” The concerts were scheduled from June to September in various UK cities.

Not his first knee surgery

Olly Murs already had a “severe knee operation” in June 2019, as he announced on Instagram at the time. He then went on a social media hiatus for several months. A year later, the singer gave in a post admitted that he had “tough twelve months” behind him – “both mentally and physically”. He underwent reconstruction of his anterior cruciate ligament “after I was told that by the time I was 40 I would need a knee replacement if I didn’t have it.” Murs “still has a long way to go, but it feels good,” he said at the time.
