PARIS (Reuters) – The chairman of the organizing committee for the Paris Olympics in 2024, Tony Estanguet, repeated on Friday that it was up to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to decide on the participation of delegates in the events, while the Ukraine calls for the exclusion of Russian and Belarusian athletes.

Personally, Tony Estanguet said he wanted the symbol of the universality of the Games to be maintained.

“I am in favor of maintaining the symbol of the universality of the Games,” said Tony Estanguet in an interview with Reuters.

“It is up to the IOC (…) to decide which delegations will be allowed to participate,” he added.
