Thus, it is obviously tropicalized and IP53 certified against water and dust intrusion. Long focal requires, this pebble equivalent to a 180mm on 24×36 is stabilized on five axes. It will thus be possible to couple the stabilization of the lens to that of the sensor to gain up to 7 stops.

A magnification ratio of 2:1

With such a focal length and a minimum focusing distance of 22.4cm, it offers a magnification ratio of 2:1 and, unlike the 60mm f/2.8 Macro, is compatible with the manufacturer’s MC-20 teleconverter. . A magnification ratio of up to x4 is therefore obtained.

On the optical side, OM System has opted for a formula based on 18 lenses divided into 13 groups. The set includes four ED lenses, two Super ED lenses, one HR lens and one Super HR lens, all combined with fluorine treatment to make the lens more resistant.

Much more upscale than the already existing 60mm, this version wants to go further, especially for professionals, by offering a lens aiming for the highest possible quality while providing stabilization. Of course, these additions have price implications.

Price and availability

Recently announced, the M.Zuiko Digital ED 90mm F3.5 Macro IS PRO lens is expected to hit shelves on February 28th. You will have to pay €1499 for this lens, which is definitely more upscale than the macro lenses for 4/3 sensors currently available.
