Available on Steam, Omega Strikers is a game Competitive Free-to-Play developped by Odyssey Interactivea studio made up of former members of Riot Games and Respawn Entertainment.
Just a day after launch in closed beta on September 16Omega Strikers reached a peak of 71,000 simultaneous streams on Twitch, thus becoming the new fashionable game on the streaming platform.
A Rocket League of Legends?
Omega Strikers is a competitive game in 3 against 3 which mixes Windjammers with a MOBA type League of Legendsor Battlerite.
The objective is simply to achieve putting the puck in the opposing team’s goal, but there are many ways to do it. Indeed, there is several characters availableand each of them has specific attacks and moves.
In addition to being able to hit the puck in specific ways to give it angle and power, it is possible to kill opponents. As in Rocket Leaguekilling an opponent clears the field for a few seconds, giving a big advantage.
The game currently has a few introductory missions that will allow you to get new characters, parts or iconsand which will serve as a tutorial, like Fortnite. He is completely free-to-playand only the cosmetic content is chargeable.
How to play Omega Strikers
To play Omega Strikers right now, there is a closed beta on Steamwhich is accessible only through Twitch drops. To hope to obtain a key, go to the page Omega Strikers from Twitch. You should watch at least two hours of streaming.
For now, Omega Strikers is only playable on PC. However, the game should be released on mobile in late 2022 and on all major platforms in 2023. Crossplay and crossprogression will be available at this time.
For the moment, 11 characters in total are available, and it will come out a priori 4 more every two weeks. Other characters and cosmetics, and events, like seasonal updates, will follow a bit later.
What was supposed to be a slight tweak turned into a complete gameplay overhaul. Syndra will receive changes to all of her abilities and a new passive to once again dominate League of Legends as she once did.
