When you’re planning a weekend or vacation, your first thought for finding a place to stay might be to connect with Airbnb. Once on the platform, you browse the search for a rental. But faced with the large number of properties available, some owners offer services and equipment to stand out: sauna, gym, valet… there is something for everyone.
Inevitably, this luxury has a cost. The specialized site Uswitch analyzed Airbnb properties in 16 popular European cities to find out which amenities raise prices the most. So what are tenants’ favorite amenities?
For the Parisian customers, it’s the sauna which is considered the most valuable. Airbnb Paris advertisers can increase their prices by 83.83 euros per person per night (the biggest increase for an amenity in all of Europe) if a sauna is offered.

In Germany, air conditioning is particularly popular. Berlin properties offering this feature may charge an extra 21 euros per person. Rome, where the summers are particularly hot, rentals with air conditioning are only charged 14 euros more.

On the other hand, the Italian capital is not kind to pet owners. If you want your four-legged friend to discover the eternal city, you will have to pay 41 euros extra by night. Madrid can also be expensive if you want to bring your pet (+ 38.33 euros).
But, like Paris, it is the sauna that drives up prices the most in the Spanish capital (+50 euros), while in Athens, the swimming pools can bring in an additional 53.5 euros. Finally, in Copenhagen, if the properties at the water’s edge can be displayed a higher price of around 10 euros, it is better to have a bread machine. In the Danish capital, tenants are ready to pay an additional 11.57 euros for this equipment.
