Soon, theinstant messaging app Google should offer users a wider range of emojis in response to messages.

After having recently learned that Google Messages would soon make it possible to transcribe voice messages, the application of the American giant would now offer the possibility of using a maximum of choices to express your emotions in response to your friends.

Google Messages: after the action, the reactions

The Mountain View company seems determined to redouble its efforts for its messaging application. Indeed, after having offered its users the possibility of reacting to RCS messages, about two years ago, Google has very recently extended the function to SMS. Last September, Google also took a first step towards Apple by announcing the possibility for owners of Android smartphones to react to messages sent from an Apple device.

And it would seem that the American company has not yet finished with the reactions to the messages since users have recently been able to make a new discovery about them.

On Android, your reactions to messages will be more nuanced

Until today, Android users are still limited to a total of seven emojis when they want to react to a message: thumbs up, thumbs down, smiley face with eyes heart shape, the face with the tears of joy, the face with the open mouth, the crying face and finally the angry face. If the latter could globally be enough to express your mood of the moment, you will soon be able to go much further.

According to the information reported by our colleagues from 9to5Google, when you want to react to a message from Google Messages, a “More” icon will appear and allow you to bring up the emoji picker in its entirety. The row listing your most frequently used emojis will obviously be prominent. Finally, note that the arrival of this functionality will apply to both RCS messages and SMS, and that its deployment should take place in the coming weeks.
