Blue Tomato continues to expand vigorously. The board sports and lifestyle specialist from Schladming in Switzerland has now opened another store. The Styrian company remains on the road to success.
The success story of Blue Tomato began in 1988. The former European snowboard champion Gerfried Schuller opened his first shop with products for snowboarders in Schladming – at that time it was still a niche sport.Pioneer on the internetThe Styrian soon recognized the great sales potential on the internet and left in 1997 with its website online – a pioneering act. In the meantime, Blue Tomato has developed into one of the world’s largest online shops with a huge selection of snowwear, streetwear, sneakers and accessories for women, men and children as well as the right equipment for snowboarders, freeskiers, skateboarders and surfers. Today the site registers up to 125,000 Visitors every day – and the trend is rising. The web shop is available in 14 languages, and you can order via live chat or directly in a shop. As a special service, customers can have their online order delivered to one of the shops free of charge and pick it up there. If an item does not fit, the order will be exchanged on site. More than 600 employees Another location was opened in Chur a few days ago. The Styrian company thus moved into a sales area of 230 square meters in the center of the city in the eastern Swiss canton of Graubünden. “The opening of our 70th location is another milestone for us,” says Adam Ellis, CEO. One of the company’s goals is “to offer a seamless shopping experience by connecting our web shop with our stationary stores”. Blue Tomato now offers more than 450,000 products with its 600 employees.
