On Inntal motorway – driver (72) crashed into tree due to microsleep

A driver lost control of his vehicle on Tuesday on the Inntal motorway (Tyrol), probably due to a moment of sleep. He “razed” several bushes over a distance of 120 meters before the journey ended at a tree.

He veered further and further to the right over the hard shoulder and collided with several bushes along the embankment before crashing into a tree on the embankment after 120 meters. The driver was uninjured and was able to free himself from the car after the impact, while his wife, with injuries of an unknown degree, had to remain in the vehicle until the Kramsach fire department arrived.Woman was seriously injuredThe car was a total write-off. It had to be recovered from the embankment using a crane from the towing service and the Kramsach fire department. The 57-year-old passenger received first aid at the scene of the accident from the emergency medical team and was then taken to the Kufstein BKH.
