It is called LG Smart Monitor 32SQ780S and is one of these new PC monitors equipped with an OS. We had tested the Samsung Smart Monitor M7, equipped with Tizen OS like the televisions. LG Electronics therefore also announces its Smart Monitor, with webOS this time.
It is a 32-inch diagonal flat screen with Ergo support, so the user can adjust the height, tilt and so on. At the image level, the monitor incorporates a panel whose technology has not been revealed, certainly IPS LCD, in 4K definition (3,840 x 2,160 pixels), with a maximum refresh rate of 60 Hz and which, according to LG, reproduces 90% of the DCI-P3 color space. With these characteristics, this screen is intended above all for office automation.
On the right side you will find two USB ports, while in the lower part there is a LAN port, two HDMIs, a USB Type-C and another USB type A. The monitor also incorporates two stereo speakers of five watts each, plus Bluetooth connectivity. From a connection point of view, it is very complete. The advantage of USB-C is to be able to charge a laptop directly from the screen, in addition to transmitting the image.
As we explained above, it is equipped with webOS. LG’s operating system provides access to various apps including Netflix, YouTube and so on. It also supports AirPlay 2. It even gives cloud gaming services, like GeForce Now and possibly Game Pass eventually, as Samsung’s recent monitors already do.
