What are these headphones from Apple?
Apple, as usual, takes care of the design of these AirPods Pro 2. The manufacturing quality is excellent, and Apple provides four pairs of silicone tips of different sizes. The headphones are comfortable and, depending on which tip suits you best, provide a very good fit, even if they don’t fit completely inside the ear. Comfort is therefore very present, even in the case of long listening. This second generation of AirPods Pro offers new features, including the touch surface on the stem. With a simple swipe of your finger, you can control volume, track playback, activate noise reduction. In hands-free kit mode, you can receive your calls.
Audio level, the H2 chip works miracles, especially with an Apple device. The bass fills the space well without invading it. The mids and highs are precise and the whole thing sounds right. The instruments are well defined, but sometimes tend to overflow. Even at high volume, however, the audio remains clean and natural. The voice timbres are well transcribed. The AirPods Pro 2 incorporate Apple’s Spatial Audio technology, unfortunately only compatible with an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV. Spatialization is impressive with Dolby Atmos or Dolby 5.1, whether for listening to music or watching movies.
At under $230, are the AirPods Pro 2 a bargain?

The active noise reduction of the AirPods Pro 2 is mastered. The bass and midrange are perfectly attenuated, and the surrounding noise is thus suppressed. If you walk the streets for the music festival, headphones screwed in your ears, you will certainly hear the local groups doing their cover of Highway to Hell folk version. But, in a busy room like an open space or a lecture hall, ANC will put you in a bubble of silence. Active noise reduction can also cause a feeling of pressure if you are not used to it, a feeling that quickly fades.
Note that there is also an Adaptive Transparent mode that lets ambient sounds through to let you be aware of your surroundings. Count about 6 hours of battery life on a single charge, if noise reduction is activated. Deactivated, you gain 2 hours more autonomy, and 30 additional hours of battery with the case. Finally, the Airpods Pro 2 are IPX4 certified, and are resistant to splashes of water and perspiration.
