After a crash in front of the south portal of the Ambergtunnel on the Vorarlberg A14 motorway on Friday evening, there was an accident on Sunday morning in front of the north portal. A motorcyclist was injured to an unspecified degree. He had to be taken to the Feldkirch State Hospital with the ambulance.
On Sunday morning around 6.30 a.m. there was an accident on the Rheintalautobahn (A14) in the municipality of Rankweil in front of the north portal of the Ambergtunnel in a construction site area. A car driver had rushed into the construction site protection and had knocked over one of the massive feet.
This was subsequently thrown into the fast lane, which was fatal for a subsequent motorcyclist: The man could no longer avoid the obstacle and fell. He was injured to an indefinite degree and had to be hospitalized in Feldkirch by the ambulance.
The person who caused the accident had left his vehicle and fled before the police even arrived. The fire brigade cleared and cleaned the accident site. During the recording of the accident and the clean-up work, one lane in the direction of Tyrol had to be closed, and traffic could be diverted to the scene of the accident in the overtaking lane.
