On the A10 in Salzburg – financial police saved the life of Hungarians (26).

As has only now become known, two tax officials saved the life of a man on the Tauern Autobahn in October. The 26-year-old had an accident due to cardiac arrest.

During a training course in Salzburg, two financial police officers from Carinthia became lifesavers. Klaus Smeritschnig and Mario Kainz were the first to arrive at the scene of an accident on the A10 in Salzburg. A Hungarian man apparently suffered a cardiac arrest. The officers secured the area and rushed to the 26-year-old’s aid. One of the financial police officers, an emergency paramedic, immediately began resuscitation measures. The accident victim was handed over in a stable condition. At the same time, his colleague organized the rescue and several first aid kits from the surrounding vehicles. The two were supported by a doctor who also happened to arrive at the scene of the accident. After successful resuscitation, the accident victim was taken to the emergency helicopter in a critical but stable condition and flown to the nearest hospital.
