On the A10 – truck driver fatally injured in Lendorf


A Salzburg truck driver’s journey on Thursday afternoon on the A10 near Lendorf ended fatally. Over 80 emergency services were deployed.

On Thursday around 5:50 p.m., a 56-year-old driver from the St. Johann im Pongau district (Salzburg) drove a truck loaded with fuel with a trailer on the A10 feeder lane from Seeboden in the direction of Lendorf (Spittal / Drau district).

Suffered fatal injuries
The driver in the municipality of Lendorf came off the road with the truck for unknown reasons, then got onto the motorway embankment and broke through several trees. The truck came to rest on its side, trapping the handlebars and sustaining fatal injuries.

No fuel leaked from the tanker and there was no environmental hazard.

The recovery work was carried out with the help of a special crane by approx. 80 rescue workers from FF Lendorf, Möllbrücke, Seeboden, Spittal / Drau and Lieserhofen.

The feeder to the A10 was closed for the duration of the recovery work.
